The young basketball player from Bahamas, Deandre Ayton, became the first player to enter the NBA Draft 2018 on Thursday (21/06/2018) or Friday morning

This surprises many because Ayton is the first player selected in the NBA Draft 2018 to get rid of a number of other potential young players.

Ayton was unable to conceal his excitement when it was announced as the first player to get the team in the 2018 NBA Draft.

"When my name was called as the first choice for the Phoenix Suns I was amazed," Ayton told SportsSet.com's BolaSport.com.

"I just waited for my name to be called, and when Adam Silver (NBA Commissioner) mentioned my name, my mind was blank, I saw the reaction of my mother's face and it was priceless," the 19-year-old said.

Although not yet a guarantee of the future, but the status as the first elected in the NBA Draft would be a pride of its own.

The names of NBA players like Shaquille O'Neal, Allen Iverson, Derrick Rose, to LeBron James have recorded a status similar to Ayton at this time.

Ayton while still in the Arizona Wildcats (University of Arizona basketball team) was elected PAC-12's Freshman of the Year and became Player of the Year.

On the other hand, choosing Ayton by the Phoenix Suns is not a surprise. The reason, since about a month ago, precisely on May 16, 2018, the player has given signs to join the Suns.
