Micheal Jordan for me is the best player in NBA (National Basketball Association) so far even if he is drafted 3rd pick in round one during NBA draft in 1984. He is drafted along with superstars Hakeem Olajuwon (1st pick), Charles Barkley (5th pick) and John Stockton (16th pick) and all round 1.

I was too curious why Micheal Jordan was not picked as the 2nd since he performed better over Sam Bowie (2nd pick) which then tagged by ESPN as the worst draft pick in the history of NBA. The reason behind not picking Jordan as the second pick on 1984 by Blazers is that they do have already Clyde Drexler which plays similar to Jordan.

Jordan In NCAA

Jordan displays a remarkable talent display even during his NCAA years where he grabbed Championship Title in 1982 against Georgetown which was also headed by his NBA rival, Patrick Ewing. He was also named as Freshman of the year where he averaged 13.4 per game and high field goal percentage of 53.4%.

He also received ACC Men's Basketball Rookie of the year in 1982, which he was awarded his most outstanding performance as a freshman player.

Retiring his college basketball year in University of North Carolina with No. 23 as his jersey number.

After he was drafted 3rd pick round 1 in 1984 NBA Draft, where he did average 51.5% shooting and 28.2 points per game. He then gets noticed by many NBA fans and became one of the most favorite players even in opposing arenas.

He was also one covered in one of sports magazine stating that "A Star Is Born" with just over a month of his professional career. All the way he was voted by fans as All-Star starter during his rookie season.

During those years, many NBA players were upset due to much attention given by fans to Michael Jordan, which sometimes resulted refusing of passing the ball to him during NBA All-Star Game. Jordan remains unaffected with it and even he was voted as Rookie of the Year.

During his early years in NBA, Jordan displays prolific scoring during the season in the 1986-87 season and aside from that he demonstrate defensive prowess where he was recorded 200 steals and 100 blocks in a season. His team Chicago Bulls always got into the playoffs but ultimately sweep by Boston Celtics which is considered as of the best teams in NBA History. Despite Jordan's effort and performance throughout the season, Magic Johnson was still the league's Most Valuable Player on that season.

Jordan performed a better performance on his shooting during 1987–88 season where he received his very first MVP Award. Aside from that, he was also named as Defensive Player of the Year where he had 3.16 steals per game and 1.6 blocks per game.

Still, on 1987–1990 playoffs they were being blocked by Detroit Pistons which is being led by Isiah Thomas, Chicago Bulls were defeated three times in consecutive seasons.

Ultimate Team

After Chicago Bulls acquired new coach Phil Jackson and young improved players Scottie Pippen and Horace Grant, it was a career change for Jordan that he ultimately improved his shooting in a regular season with 53.9% shooting. After his teammates, Scottie Pippen and Horace Grant are fully developed with the skills they manage to get their first division championship for the very first time in 16 years for Chicago Bulls in the 1990-91 season, where they also got a record of 61 wins in regular season.

With the efforts and assistance of both players Scottie Pippen and Horace Grant, they manage to grab their very first three-peat in 1991-1993. He also won the NBA Finals MVP that time also.

Retirement And Reborn

After the incident that his father was killed, he lost his passion to play basketball where he decided to retire and play under minor league baseball in 1993-1994. But in 1995, he decided to return in the game that he really loves. Then his team Chicago Bulls recruited a good rebound specialist Dennis Rodman where they manage to have their second three-peat in 1996-1998, while Jordan receiving his NBA Finals MVP from 1996-1998.

My Opinion About Jordan

He had received many awards during his basketball careers and was loved by many basketball fans even until today. I myself always watch his NBA highlights and compare them to recently NBA players, but still, I cannot see equal NBA player as Michael Jordan.

What do you think about Michael Jordan? Do you think he deserves to receive those awards and be recognized by his basketball efforts? I would love to see comments and opinions here.
