Just as I predicted 2 months ago Manu Ginobili has announced his retirement from the NBA.  Ginobili retires having played all 16 years of his NBA career with the Spurs.  He won 4 NBA Championships, was named to the All Star Team twice, won an Olympic Gold Medal for Argentina, and was named 6th man of the year in 2008.

In addition to these accomplishments he had short lived pro career in Europe before coming to the NBA.  He was twice named the Italian League MVP, won a Euroleague Finals MVP award, and won an Italian Cup MVP award as well.

He retires having played 1,275 regular season and playoff games with a career regular season scoring average of 13.3 PPG, 3.8 APG, and 3.5 RPG.  His retirement closes the door on what was once a Spurs dynasty of sorts, winning 3 NBA Championships from 2003-2007 and adding another in 2014.
