Tony Parker, the Spurs star PG, has agreed to a 2 year $10 million dollar deal with the Charlotte Hornets.  If there was any question about whether the Spurs were in rebuild mode then this announcement should end that debate.  Parker had played his entire 17 year NBA career for the Spurs. He is a 6 time all-star and has won 4 championships with the Spurs, including a Finals MVP award in 2007.

With Parker leaving and the impending trade of Kawhi Leonard from the team I fully expect that Manu Ginobili will retire as well. This will officially end what was once a Spurs dynasty of sorts with the team winning 3 championships over a 5 year span in 2003, 2005, and 2007. Then taking it home again in 2014 with the addition of Kawhi Leonard to the same core of players.  The Spurs also won a championship in the lockout shortened 1999 season with Tim Duncan and David Robinson leading the way before the arrival of Parker and Ginobili.
