I am thrilled to announce my 253rd Scorum Sports Cast! You can find me @thesportsguru and I will be giving you the best 5-10 minute sports rants here on Scorum every day. On today’s episode I will let you know what I have been up to for the last two weeks and discuss some of the biggest stories in sports that I missed.

This is my first podcast in a couple weeks. I have had a very hectic life of late but for all the right reasons. Last June I went through several life changing events including losing my mom to cancer, getting married to Brittany, and turning 40 years old. Since then the last 10 months have flown by at a rapid speed. I don’t think I really ever took the time to properly mourn or just give myself some time to reflect on those events. I found myself at a cross roads recently and was doing some soul searching about what I really wanted to do in life.

After moving home from college at the University of Iowa, I managed a restaurant called Old Chicago. Pizza, Pasta, and Beer….LOTS of BEER. We had 30 tap handles and over 110 craft beers. This was in the early 2000s before the big craft beer craze. I loved working in the restaurant industry. I love talking to customers and shaking hands and kissing babies.

Well, after several years in the sports radio and marketing business, I have decided to jump back into what I love. On May 1st I will be the owner of a restaurant called Ciao Bella. The owner is retiring and this is the right place/right time scenario. It has been an extremely intense few weeks getting this deal done, taxes, liquor license, lawyers, insurance, food and liquor vendors etc. Thus why I have been quiet on Scorum.

But I am BACK! Scorum has been a dynamite outlet to clear my mind of the day to day stress and inner act with some really cool friends that I have made. I look forward to the future for many reasons and Scorum is definitely on that list! CHEERS!!!

I would love to tell you all about it in my new Scorum Sports Cast. To check out my 253rd show just click the play button below. I look forward to hearing your input and comments. Cheers!
