I am thrilled to announce my 42nd Scorum Sports Cast! You can find me @thesportsguru and I will be giving you the best 5-10 minute sports rants here on Scorum every day. On today’s episode, I want to lighten it up a bit and talk about some of the Dumbest Sports Injuries that I have had and I will tell you all about how I just tore my meniscus ☹

My current situation

I grew up playing basketball, baseball, and football. Like most kids, the only thing I cared about were sports. Once I hit junior high and had started to grow, basketball became my passion. I had never even had a sprained ankle or anything until junior high basketball. But then I started to break a couple bones. My broken arm in the 8th grade state basketball tournament was my first major injury. It was awful having to sit out the championship game and watch my teammates fall a few points short. Winning at that age was so important to us.

The summer before my senior year of high school was going to be the best of my life. Girls were starting to creep into my mind but basketball was still my life. I wanted so desperately to play Division 1 College Basketball. I had dreamed of it since watching March Madness as a kid. But those dreams would take a hit when I broke my back that summer. I was devastated and had to wear a stupid brace like this for 3 months. That wasn’t good for my game on or off the court (not the coolest look to wear in the hallways of the high school for the ladies).

Those injuries at least all occurred while playing sports. But just wait until you hear how I tore my meniscus a couple weeks ago. I had successful surgery and had it repaired yesterday and am home from the hospital. What a perfect weekend to be laid up on the couch! Bring on the football!

Tell me about your dumbest sports injuries and I will hit you with a vote below!!!!!!! HAPPY FRIDAY Y’ALL!!!! I will be back later with some gambling picks for your college football Saturday!

I would love to tell you all about it in my new Scorum Sports Cast. To check out my 42nd show, just click the play button below. I look forward to hearing your input and comments. Cheers!
