Minnesota Timberwolves star Jimmy Butler has asked the team to leave, before the start of the 2018-2019 season. According to US media, teams that Butler would accept the transfer are Brooklyn Nets, Los Angeles Clippers and New York Knicks. As for the Knicks, team president Steve Mills said in an event with fans that the team will not swap assets for a player who can get it as a free agent next summer.
Many media have alluded that Butler could join a team with the Boston Celtics organizer, Kyrie Irving, next summer, as both can become free players.It remains to be seen whether Minnesota will have a desire for a Butler exchange, with the new season less than a month away, where in the debut game, Timberowlves will play against San Antonio Spurs.
