2011 NBA championship winners Dallas Mavericks have signed Chinese star forward Ding Yanyuhang, the franchise announced on Monday.

"Welcome to the Mavericks, Ding Yanyuhang!" the Mavericks posted in Chinese on its official Twitter account.

Last summer, Ding earned himself a two-way contract with the Mavericks with his spectacular performance in the NBA Summer League, though he ultimately decided to play for a further season in the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA).

In the 2017-18 season, Ding averaged 26.0 points, 5.2 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 1.6 steals per game en route to winning his second consecutive CBA MVP award, helping his side Shandong Golden Stars to reach the league semifinals.

With his new contract, Ding will play for the Mavericks in pre-season games. The CBA MVP player will strive for a place in the Mavericks' roster for the new season.
