NBA Talk #81: Top Free Agents that the Lakers should pursue this Summer Part 2
Image Source What's up basketball fans! I am here again @dwin0603 to give you another exciting basketball discussion for another episode of NBA Talk, and today we will talk about Part 2 of the top free agents that the Lakers should target this coming offseason. Let's start! The Lakers should really be careful in choosing the right pieces to build around LeBron James. After this disastrous season, they should be serious now and decide everything carefully because they should not waste another year of the aging LeBron James. It will be unacceptable if they failed again next season. So, today I present to you another list of the top free agents that they can fit in right next to LeBron. Rudy Gay Image Source The Lakers will surely try their luck in convincing Jimmy Butler and Kawhi Leonard to join the team in the offseason but I think it's not possible. Butler can re-sign with the Sixers if they found success this season and Kawhi is eying to join the Clippers instead of the Lakers next season because he doesn't want to team up with LeBron James. Kawhi can also re-sign with the Toronto Raptors depending on the result of this season. So, the Lakers won't get either of the two so I think they should go with Rudy Gay. Gay maybe aging too but he still has it. He's a nice wing that can score and can defend well. He can compliment what the Lakers want from Kawhi and Jimmy but not exactly what those two superstars can give. Danny Green Image Source The Lakers might fail to get Klay Thompson or even JJ Redick so the last option for a 2 spot is Danny Green. Green is not as good as he was back when he was with the Spurs but he can still knock those threes down. He also can still depend against other shooting guards but not as effectively as the old times. He's aging too but he can still be a nice role player off the bench for the Lakers who is lacking shooters. Darren Collison Image Source L.A. needs a point guard now that Rajon Rondo is on his way out when the season ends. Yes, I think Rondo will likely go after the trash season the Lakers had this year so he might look for another place where he can bring his talents and help a contending team. And when Rondo gets out, the Lakers might need another point guard off the bench and I think Darren Collison is a great option. I believe Collison can be an all-star caliber player but he is not recognized by the league because he is with Indiana and all attentions are on Victor Oladipo. I really think that he is one of the most underrated point guards in the league. That is all for today folks! I would love to hear your thoughts about this article so drop your comments now and let's have some basketball talk! :)
