The Georgia Bulldawgs enter the 2018 season without the #2 and #3 all-time Bulldawg rushers that graced the backfield last year, Chubb and Michel. You could almost be forgiven if you expect them to struggle to replace that talent but you would still be wrong, that's incorrect, not part of reality, fake news, a Gator fantasy. Let me explain.

Chubb and Michel exit stage left; D'Andre Swift enter stage right.

D'Andre was born and raised in Philadelphia and graduated from St. Josephs Prep School where he ran for 1,564 yards on 149 carries.

He enters 2018 as a true sophomore. His freshman campaign yielded 618 yards on the ground on 81 carries for a 7.6 avg gain per carry. He also caught 17 passes for 153 for a 9 yard avg. Kirby runs his backfield by committee so compare those numbers to Chubb who carried the rock 256 times for over 1300 yards and Michel who got 156 carries for over 1200 yards. This year Swift is going to the main man with Hollyfield, Herrien and Cook playing supporting roles. I think he's going to get 300 carries if Georgia gets 15 games again this year. That bodes well for him and Georgia.

Here's the top 3 in Georgia history and their rushing stats as freshmen.

Herschel Freshmen - 274 carries 1616 yards; Career - 994 carries 5,259 yards

 Chubb Freshmen - 219 carries 1547 yards; Career - 758 carries 4,769 yards

 Michel Freshmen - 64 carries 140 yards; Career - 590 carries 3,613 yards

So it's easy to see being third on the depth chart last year didn't allow him the opportunity to put up great numbers. Most good RBs go pro after their junior year although Chubb and Michel both played 4 years, so Swift has two more years to get into the rarified air.

It's going to be next to impossible to catch Chubb in two years but he could get 3,000 and catch Michel. Where it gets interesting is to factor in the senior year. Herschel only ran played 3 years but Swift would have a shot if he played 4 years. That would be just over 1500 yards a year for the next three years.

Don't roll your eyes. Watch him run. D'Andre D'Heisman?
