The committee came out on Tuesday with their updated rankings for the College Football Playoff. I don’t really have a problem with the top 4 but it bothers me that we are going to have a bunch of terrible championship games this weekend (other than the SEC) and there would be a better way of doing things.

One of the reasons why College Basketball is my favorite sport is that every single team has a chance to win the title every year. Win your conference tournament and you are in March Madness. EVERY SINGLE TEAM HAS A SHOT.

But in College Football? Absolutely not. UCF hasn’t lost a game in TWO YEARS and they have zero chances of making the College Football Playoff. I understand that they lost their best player last week to this gruesome injury, but the rest of the team deserves their shot. It is just not right.

And even though I can’t stand Urban Meyer or Ohio State, no Big Ten team that goes 12-1 and wins their conference championship should ever miss out on the playoffs, unless there are 4 undefeated teams ahead of them.

And how does Notre Dame get a pass for not having to play in a conference championship?
