The Most Upsetting Mistake in Sports to Me - "The Prayer at Jordan-Hare"
I am a Bulldawg fan so I have many mistakes from which to chose. Truthfully though upsetting plays can't always be classified as a mistake. The timeout in the rain that robbed Eric Zeier of victory against Florida wasn't really a mistake. It was just a lucky call by Spurrier. The run back of a kickoff in the Peach Bowl against Virginia in the closing seconds, after Georgia just drove down the field to take the lead, in Ray Goff's and Hines Ward's last game wasn't a mistake of one person. I think the whole team laid down on that play. There was a huge mistake a couple of years ago against Tennessee to allow a last-second Hail Mary after Jacob Eason just drove the field to get the lead with 19 seconds left in the game. Somebody hired Jim Harrick and Tubby Smith as basketball coaches. That definitely qualifies as a mistake. But not the biggest.The biggest mistake was the tip of a ball underthrown by Nick Marshall of Auburn to allow Auburn to beat Georgia in the final seconds 43-38 in 2013. Tray Matthews is set to intercept the ball and Harvey-Clemons knocks the ball out of his hands, up in the air to Ricardo Louis streaking down the field. On a 4th and 18! The game was over! Well, it was after this play for sure.The PlayersNick Marshall played cornerback - on the defense mind you, he wasn't even a quarterback at Georgia before being dismissed for unspecified rules violations in 2011. Two years later he is the quarterback for the Auburn Tigers. He couldn't make it in the NFL and currently plays cornerback in the CFL.Josh Harvey-Clemons eventually gets dismissed from the team and finishes his collegiate career at Louisville. Currently plays linebacker for the Washington Redskins. I guess he never learned how to catch.Tray Matthews was dismissed from Georgia as well and transferred to Auburn. As fate would have it he intercepts a pass in the endzone a couple of years later against Georgia, so he eventually learned how to catch.Ricardo Louis was drafted by and plays for the Cleveland Browns. Karma can be a bitch.
