Team Thompson (my team) started out the season with a win over a team that is currently the top scorer in my league. Since then, I got beat by a team who only needed 7 out of 9 starting players to outscore me, and most recently, also by a team who I would have beaten had I chose NOT to bench one of my star receivers, Sterling Shepard, who put up 20 points while hotting up my bench last week. Indeed, the second loss that I suffered in Week 3 has been the most painful, but I remain optimistic.

Tomorrow afternoon I go up against one of the last two undefeated teams who boasts a 3-0 record, Team @mikey.

I was listening to @janusviews where throughout the course of his podcast, Marcus made it a point to reiterate how important it is not to give up after a rough start. Though my team hasn't had the roughest start of all, losing in Week 3 due to a big lapse in my judgement that I could have avoided did initially deter my confidence moving forward - only just slightly.

Marcus Hemmingway

Earlier this week, Mikey acknowledged that Team Thompson may be somewhat of a challenge to him, however, I'll strengthen that theory in highlighting why Team Thompson will triumph after tomorrows dust has settled...

Mikey's team hasn't looked as dominant as they were in Week One. Yet, they have pulled out some massively impressive last-minute rallies in the last two weeks to stay undefeated including one where Team Mikey was down by 17 points with only 1 player left for him to play during the last NFL game of the week. Mikey's top receiver (and first round draft pick), Antonio Brown, put on a show last Monday night helping Mikey edge his opponent by just over a point. Though his opponent at the time was projected to lose by a little over 20 points before hand , Mikey's team surprisingly looked to have struggled while only amassing just over 80 points.

Overall, a win is a win. And in Mikey's case, 3 wins to start off the season is enough to make any team want to be on alert.

The Deciding Factors

Even though my Runningback situation is looking very sketch, I am confident that Mikey's starting Quarterback, Matthew Stafford, will NOT be in for an easy game this Sunday against the Cowboys progressing defense. I am even more confident that my starting QB Eli Manning (who I elected to go with this week over my other QB options, Russel Wilson and Philip Rivers) will have a big day against the New Orlean Saints defense currently ranked 32nd. And you can rest assure that last weeks top Giants receiver, Sterling Shepard, will be starting for me.

As I've mentioned in the past, the Giants are my favorite team. And Eli Manning is my favorite QB. Does the Giants Offensive line need to look perfect for Eli to light up the defense? Maybe. Is Eli getting old and probably nearing the end of his career following another less than stellar season? Maybe. Is his throwing accuracy waning? Mayybbee... One thing is for sure, Eli manning's air of unpredictability remains at an all time high, like it always has.

As a Giants fan, just when you think you've seen it all , boom! They hit you with something else. So again, though I'm on edge this Sunday, I think Team Thompson and the Giants will shine - helping to put an end to @Mikey's undefeated streak.

Wrap Up:

So who knows, maybe this post will spiritually or telekinetically give Team Thompson and/or the Giants an inspired boost this Sunday. Maybe Eli will hear my prayers? Or maybe I am in for an even rougher set back than last week's loss. Of course @mikey may know something that I don't know but I'm going to keep my best foot forward and remember that in the end, There's absolutely nothing at all that I can do except watch.

Thanks for reading.

Fun Fact | Fun Wager:

The Giants haven’t scored 30 points in a game during current Ben McAdoo era (Since 2 Years Ago).

I'm willing to wager 40 Scorum Total with anyone or split against 2 people that the Giants will score 30 points or more against the Saints tomorrow win or lose. I'll even offer 1 to 4 odds - Meaning so if one person or two people take this bet and lose I will only receive 10 SCR from that one person or 2 people BUT if YOU WIN you will receive a full 40 SCR from me OR 20 SCR each if my bet is split against two people.

Update (Halftime on Sunday):

Update at Halftime: I'm up13 points. Stafford can still come out swinging during Halftime but I have Eli playing in about 2 hours from now.

Update (Monday Night Football)

Mikey edged by me 2 minutes before the 4th quarter of the last game of the week. Sad. But true. Another late rally by one of Mikey's players. Good game. Lindsay is proving to be a diamond in the rough.
