From all accounts Mitchell Trubisky is a pretty good guy. He is the exact opposite of the douche bag who played QB for the Bears for the eight years prior to Trubisky's arrival.

Trubisky seems to care quite a bit about listening to coaches, honing his craft, and improving. That is quite admirable... and sadly necessary. Most QBs do that during their time in college. They learn the position at a slightly slower pace than the NFL. This allows them to grow into the position. Just like you do not teach a kid to ride a bike on a steep hill, you don't teach a player to play QB in the NFL... usually.

However, unlike most QBs, Mitchell Trubisky only started 13 games in college. So when the Bears drafted him, they knew he was going to have to learn the position while flying down a hill with 300 pound monsters chasing him.

The Bears were enamored by his arm strength and mobility. They simply could not pass him up. Which is cool... unless you need to trade up from the 3rd overall pick to the 2nd overall pick in order to get him. The Bears gave the 49ers two 3rd round picks and a 4th round pick in order to move up 1 spot! Even that would have been acceptable if there were no other talented QBs in the draft. But there were at least 2. Both Pat Mahomes and Deshaun Watson, two highly rated college QBs (with a ton of experience) were available.

So the Bears pissed away 3 draft picks in order to take a project who may have been there at the 3rd pick. Heck they could have traded down, gained picks and they still could have drafted this incredibly raw talent. As a result, Bears fans were already a little annoyed with the front office.

Then the most improbable trade in the history of the NFL happened. John Gruden inexplicably decided to trade one of the best players in the game for 2 draft picks. Even more baffling is that he then chose to publicly whine that it is tough to find pass rushers.

Now Bears fans are even more annoyed than ever.

Kahlil Mack will be the best player on the field for 10 of the next 13 games (They play Aaron Rodgers, Tom Brady and Aaron Donald). In those games he will be the second best player on the field.

He single-handedly made the Bears a Super Bowl caliber defense. But sadly, with a QB learning to ride his bike while screaming down Mt. Everest, the Bears have no chance of making it to the Super Bowl.

The only good part of all of this is that with Trubisky learning to play on the fly, the defense will have many opportunities to win games all on their own. Just like Khalil Mack did when he got his 3rd strip sack in as many games. He also happened to get it in the 4th quarter when the Cardinals were in the red zone about to put the game out of Trubisky's inexperienced reach.

I wonder if mack can play QB...
