The Washington Redskins hosted the Green Bay Packers Sunday afternoon on a soggy FedExField in Landover, Maryland. The Redskins were coming off a complete failure of a game in week two against the Indianapolis Colts after a great win in week one, and no one knew what to expect of them against Aaron Rodgers, or the Green Bay defense. After the very first drive, everyone in the building got the hint that this Redskins team is not who you thought they were (vlog is below).

Most anyone who has kept a close eye on Washington already knew the team would be tough in the trenches with Alabama defensive tackles Daron Payne and Jonathan Allen anchoring the inside, and Matt Ioannidis breaking out at defensive end. Thru week three, this Redskins defense is in the top two of the league in both defensive scoring and yards.

The main question heading into this season was what the offense could do. Fast-forward now to week four, and it's easy to see that Redskins head coach Jay Gruden knows he can't win unless he stays focused on running the ball. His quarterback, Alex Smith, is a perfect fit for his system when the running game is clicking. The long-ball targets, like the 46-yard touchdown bomb to Paul Richardson in the first quarter Sunday, will be there if the running game does its job.

Adrian Peterson showed he can still do it at 34 putting up 120 yards on 19 carries and adding two touchdowns. The Redskins will need to continue to give him the ball 15+ times a game if they want to contend in the NFC East this season. This most still also find a way to keep Chris Thompson involved as well.

The team needs to focus on cutting back on penalties this week, as well as finding a way to get linebackers Ryan Kerrigan and Preston Smith more involved.

Each week I make a pregame and postgame vlog about the Redskins upcoming game or other topics from that week. Below is the postgame vlog from this past weekends game against the Green Bay Packers. The NFL may force you to go to their site to watch it...do so by CLICKING HERE.

Washington Redskins 31 vs Green Bay Packers 17 | My Thoughts

I wanted to take a minute and say hello to the community here at SCORUM. I'm a diehard fan that loves the Redskins, Braves, Hornets, and Hokies like they're each one of my own kids. Well, technically I'm on a one-year prove it deal with the Hornets for now, but I've cheered them since day one, thirty years ago this season...they're just driving me insane lately (more to come in the future on that topic). Hopefully, the community is ok with my style of writing/making videos as well as the occasional rant I might have. Cheers!
