The NFL season is blowing by us, but the good news is that there's a lot of action to watch, free fantasy football contests to join, and thousands of dollars to win!
I'm not sure if you feel the same way, but I don't know what's going to happen this week in the NFL. I feel that we still have a lot to learn about nearly every team. Injuries will change how many games end up this Sunday and we'll also see how teams adjust to early issues on offense and defense.
Here are a few contests I've entered for Sunday's games and some insight into why I made the picks that I have.
DraftKings Full Sunday Lineup
The above lineup is entered in two completely free contests -- a $10,000 and $3,500 freeroll sponsored on DraftKings. Join me at DraftKings.com (not a referral link).
I must note that I am not confident in my picks at all this week. What I do know for sure is that the Miami Dolphins are the worst team I have ever seen. I'll start my team with Dak Prescott as my quarterback. He should easily rip them to shreds. I'm also expecting big performances from Devonta Freeman and Kerryon Johnson, who have not had big seasons so far. The Lions play an injury-riddled Eagles defense that I think will have issues stopping Detroit, which is why I also took tight end TJ Hockenson.
Without Antonio Brown in New England, I love Julian Edelman against the Jets. My most premium pick of the week is Hopkins from Houston, who will face a Chargers team that was obliterated by the Lions' Kenny Golladay last week.
DraftKings Sunday Night Game Only
KFC is hosting a $10,000 Sunday only contest on DraftKings. I'm going non-traditional here and picking an unproven tight end (Harris) so I could afford some premium talent, including both quarterbacks. I need both teams to go crazy on offense to have a shot, but it's always difficult to win when you only have two teams to select from and are competing against tens of thousands of others in a contest. Still, it's free and fun!
Yahoo Daily Fantasy Contest
My favorite contest of all is always the Yahoo Daily Fantasy Freeroll. They host a yearly and weekly contest with tens of thousands up for grabs. Once again, I'm going with Dak at quarterback and taking some big risks here. I love a few low-priced receivers, including Sanders (who tore it up last week), Williams, and Larry Fitzgerald who looks like his much younger self again. I'm rolling the dice on the Steelers' Conner who has been stuffed so far this year, but he's facing a decent at best 49ers defense that he should be able to run on well. The Dallas defense is worth the price since they face the Dolphins, who have been unable to do anything on offense so far.
