This weeks games decide who makes it to the Super Bowl and we have the Packers going to San Fran to take on the 49ers and the underdog Titans go to Kansas City to take on the Chiefs. Shown above are my picks for this week including my best guess final scores, which mean absolutely nothing because my history of picking overs/unders for games is horrible. My side picks are generally solid however as indicated in my 4-0 record last weekend, shown below.

The AFC Championship game Chiefs vs Titans match up is the first game on Sunday with the Chiefs favored by -7.5. These two teams met in the regular season with the Titans pulling off a miraculous comeback in the final seconds to win by 3. The Titans have been the consummate underdog story knocking off last years Super Bowl Champion Patriots and this years perennial favorite Baltimore Ravens. This week they get an even bigger test if that's even possible, the Chiefs at home led by Pat Mahomes. The Chiefs fell behind 24-0 last week before reeling off 41 straight points against the hapless Texans defense. While I don't think they'll have that same kind of run this week I think the Chiefs do enough to win this game relatively comfortably. They get a lead, force Ryan Tannehill to throw and then bad things happen for the Titans the rest of the way. My pick is the Chiefs advance to the Super Bowl and cover in this game.

In the NFC Championship game we have the Packers facing the 49ers with the 49ers favored by -7.5. These two teams also met during the regular season and it wasn't close, the 49ers stomped all over Green Bay winning by a score of 37-8. This does a few things looking ahead to this game, it will have Green Bay knowing they have to perform WAY WAY better to have any shot of winning the game, and the 49ers may take it for granted that they will emerge victorious. The betting public will look at it and reason "well they won last time by 27, they'll for sure win this game by 8 or more" one might think, but it usually doesn't play out that way in practice. I think Green Bay makes a game of this one, they keep it close, and even have a chance to win and if they make some plays, they could, but I'll pick the 49ers to win a close game with the Packers covering the spread.
