Last evening, the Chicago Bears defense completely shut down arguably the best offense in the NFL. Los Angeles came into Soldier field with only one tally in the loosing column, having lost to the second best team in the NFC, the New Orleans Saints.

Chicago handed them their second L in an unprecedented fashion, as it was the first time the Rams were held to less than 20 points this season. With only four games remaining, Chicago didn't want to leave their fate of making the playoffs up to a must-win match-up with either of their division rivals, the Packers and/or the Vikings. As a result, they showed up in front of their home crowd and solidified their position in the playoff race.

Mitchell Trubisky came into the evening missing two games and went without touching the football for 10 days, which is the longest streak he has ever went without. Watching him play, it was quite obvious that he was shaking off cobwebs. On his first drive down the field, he overthrew a pass to Bellamy and the Rams corner Marcus Peters intercepted it, which led to Zuerlein kicking it through the uprights on just one set of downs.

On the Bears second drive down the field, Trubisky completed 3/5 passes and Cohen's 32 yard rush down the field put the Bears in FG positioning. On third down following Cohen's rush, Trubisky was sacked, pushing the field goal out an extra 10 yards. Cody Parkey had no problem putting it through, as his field goal set the score at 3-3 going into the second quarter.

Roquan Smith, ILB, picked off Goff 3 minutes and 46 seconds into the second quarter and brought the ball down the field for a 22 yards. As the Bears offense couldn't pick up any yardage subsequent to the interception, they had to suffice for a FG.

Jared Goff led the Rams down the field on their next possession. He made steady progress by throwing short passes which drove them down the field 48 yards, with the Bears shutting down all running attempts for no gain. The 6 year Ram Veteran who has seen all the Rams highs and lows made his 3rd successful 50+ yard field goal of the season, which tied the game at 6.

Nearing the end of the second quarter, with 25 second left, Mitchell Trubisky made the crowd go silent as he threw his second interception to Nickell Robey-Coleman. Los Angeles, in Bears territory decided to throw a Hail Mary instead of taking a FG attempt and it resulted in Eddie Jackson, the defensive player of November, grabbing his 5th pick of the season. This momentum shift was crucial heading into halftime.

Right out of the gates, Eddie Goldman on the Bears defensive line forced a safety as he slaughtered Goff. Allen Robinson and Cohen led the Bears down the field during this possession. On a 3rd and 2, Matt Nagy pulled an unorthodox play out of his book, putting Hicks aka Fridge 2.0 in the backfield and he lined up defensive line players with offensive line players on the offensive line. Bradley Sowell checked in as an eligible receiver and as the Rams tried to stop Hicks from running it in, Sowell was left wide open on the right side of the endzone and Trubisky found him for his first TD of the game.

Towards the end of the third quarter, Trubisky and Goff threw back-to-back interceptions. John Johnson III, L.A., and Kyle Fuller, Chicago were the recipients of the picks. Kyle Fuller now has 7 interceptions on the year which brought him to the very top of the leader board.

Robert Woods set the Rams up for a field goal after he grabbed a 29 yard reception. But, Zuerlein shanked the imperative attempt that would of brought them into a one possession game. It was only the third time he missed in 8 games this season. In the Bears next possesion down the field, Parkey mirrored what Zuerlein did and missed a 38 yarder with 2:45 to play.

The Prince saved the day, as Amukamara handed Goff his fourth interception of the game. With an impeccable defensive performance from the Bears, they now lead the league as a team in the interception department with the next team trailing behind by 6. Additionally, they have gave up the fewest rushing touchdowns and second fewest rushing yards in the league.

Next week, Chicago will host Green Bay on their home turf, and the Packers must win to even have a slight chance of making the playoffs. The Rams will host the Eagles at the L.A. Coliseum on SNF.
