On Sunday, January 25th, 1981, the Oakland (now Las Vegas) Raiders defeated the Philadelphia Eagles 27-10 in Super Bowl XV to win the 61st championship in NFL history. It was the second championship for the Raiders franchise as Raiders quarterback Jim Plunkett won the Super Bowl MVP Award. The game was held at the Louisiana Superdome in New Orleans.
Cleveland Browns quarterback Brian Sipe won the 1980 MVP Award with 30 passing touchdowns and 4132 passing yards, while Oakland Raiders cornerback Lester Hayes won the 1980 Defensive Player of the Year Award.
