On Sunday, January 28th, 2001, the Baltimore Ravens defeated the New York Giants 34-7 in Super Bowl XXXV to win the 81st championship in NFL history. It was the first championship for the Ravens franchise as Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis won the Super Bowl MVP Award. The game was held at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida.

St. Louis Rams running back Marshall Faulk won the 2000 MVP Award with 18 rushing touchdowns touchdowns and 1,359 rushing yards. Ray Lewis also won the 2000 Defensive Player of the Year Award with three sacks, two interceptions and three fumble recoveries.
