On Sunday, February 7th, 2016, the Denver Broncos defeated the Carolina Panthers 24-10 in Super Bowl 50 to win the 96th championship in NFL history. It was the third (and, as of this writing, most recent) championship for the Broncos franchise as Broncos linebacker Von Miller won the Super Bowl MVP Award. The game was held at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California.
Panthers quarterback Cam Newton won the MVP Award with 35 passing touchdowns and 3,837 passing yards, while Houston Texans defensive end JJ Watt won his back-to-back Defensive Player of the Year Awards with three forced fumbles and 17 and a half sacks.
