On Sunday, February 3rd, 2019, the New England Patriots defeated the Los Angeles Rams 13-3 in Super Bowl LIII to win the 99th championship in NFL history. It was the sixth (and, as of this writing, most recent) championship for the Patriots franchise as Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman won the Super Bowl MVP Award. The game was held at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia.

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes won the 2018 MVP Award with 50 passing touchdowns and 5,097 passing yards, while Los Angeles Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald won the back-to-back Defensive Player of the Year Awards with four forced fumbles and 20 and a half sacks.
