By Zane Miller On Sunday, February 2nd, 2020, the Kansas City Chiefs defeated the San Francisco 49ers 31-20 in Super Bowl LIV to win the 100th championship in NFL history. It was the second (and, as of this writing, most recent) championship for the Chiefs franchise, and first since becoming NFL members, as Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes won the Super Bowl MVP Award. The game was held at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida. Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson won the 2019 MVP Award with 36 passing touchdowns and 3,127 passing yards, while New England Patriots defensive back Stephon Gilmore won the 2019 Defensive Player of the Year Award with six interceptions.
