The first round of the NHL Draft ended and here's its results. Unsurprisingly, No. 1 is Swedish defenseman Rasmus Dahlin, No. 2 is Russian forward Andrei Svechnikov and No. 3 is - a little bit unexpected - Finnish forward Jesperi Kotkaniemi. For the first time since 1993 only european players were picked in the top-3. In general, the first round this year was a very international one.

Also, during the first round of the Draft Washington Capitals traded goaltender Grubauer and defenseman Orpik to Colorado Avalanche for the second-round draft pick (No. 47).
