• No Elias Pettersson=Bad news for the Canucks 
  • Good to see the #Hockeytalks campaign in the pregame ceremony. I have close relatives that have had issues with their mental health. 
  • Interesting to see the Canucks match Sutter up against McDavid. My instinct tells me Sutter is in over his head, but against McDavid pretty well everyone is
  • In the first period, Lucic gets booed in his hometown when he touches the puck. Canucks fans have a long memory!
  • Eriksson is playing on the Canucks 4th line. Worst bang for your buck ever when you pay a fourth liner $6 million US
  • Horvat has no finish tonight. Not good when your best player is out of the lineup 
  • McDavid collides with a referee and it sets up a great scoring chance for the Canucks. Not good. These younger referees in the league seem to have long memories. I’ve never seen McDavid as a yapper, but it seems like he doesn’t get as many calls as he should.
  • Canucks just aren’t the same without Pettersson, especially on the PP. No surprise. I’m surprised bloggers here on Scorum haven’t been blogging about him more.
  • Tough game for Caleb Jones. He coughed up the puck on a Canucks goal, took a dumb penalty and got hammered behind the Canucks net late in the third
  • Ben Hutton scores, then it gets disallowed on the coach’s Challenge on on offside. Am I the only one who can’t stand this rule? Just keep the challenge for goalie interference!
  • The Oilers haven’t won in Vancouver since April of 2017. Pretty unbelievable for a team with Connor McDavid and more unbelievable considering how many injuries the Canucks had during that time.
  • Tobias Reider got a breakaway and didn’t score. He has 0 goals on the season. Pretty well says it all about the Oilers
  • 3 on 3 overtime in this game. The Oilers have McDavid. Remember when I said the Canucks aren’t the same without Pettersson?
  • Draisaitl goes in alone in overtime, Horvat goes in alone in overtime. Neither score. Goalies come up big.
