NHL19 players' ratings are presented; some strange decisions
The EA NHL19 will be released soon, and the EA SPORTS already presented the top-50 players' overall ratings. It's not a surprise that Connor McDavid is the No.1 with the 94 overall rating, but there are also some controversial ratings. The top-10 looks the following: Connor McDavid - 94Sidney Crosby - 93 Alexander Ovechkin - 92Drew Doughty - 92Carey Price - 92Nikita Kucherov - 91Victor Hedman - 91Patrick Kane - 91Evgeni Malkin - 91Steven Stamkos - 91 Looks good in general, but don't you think Carey Price is a little bit overrated? Price is a good goalie, but his last season was really weak. And after that he's rated the 5th. Anyway, later we'll see more unclear goalie ratings. 11. Sergei Bobrovsky - 91 12. Braden Holtby - 91 13. Nathan Mackinnon - 90 14. Erik Karlsson - 90 15. Anze Kopitar - 90 16. Taylor Hall - 90 17. Vladimir Tarasenko - 90 18. Patrice Bergeron - 90 19. John Tavares - 90 20. Johnny Gaudreau - 90 The 11-20 rating is in order, too. There just a lot of disputes about John Tavares among fans, somebody think it's too low rating, somebody think John is overrated. I think it's okay with this highest-rated Leaf. 21. Jamie Benn - 90 22. Tyler Seguin - 90 23. Tuukka Rask - 90 24. Claude Giroux - 89 25. Patrik Laine - 89 26. Auston Matthews - 89 27. Brent Burns - 89 28. Blake Wheeler - 89 29. Phil Kessel - 89 30. Mark Scheifele - 89 There are controversies begin. Claude Giroux is rated 89 overall and he's the 24th, okay. Giroux finished the second in scoring last season with 102 points, and his rating can be better for sure. Another question is the rating of Tuukka Rask, who is much higher than Vezina finalists Rinne and Vasilevskiy. 31. Alex Pietrangelo - 89 32. Evgeny Kuznetsov - 89 33. Jonathan Quick - 89 34. Devan Dubnyk - 89 35. Brad Marchand - 88 36. Artemi Panarin - 88 37. Oliver Ekman-Larsson -88 38. Roman Josi - 88 39. P.K. Subban - 88 40. Aleksander Barkov - 88 The NHL19 cover athlete and last-season Norris Trophy finalist P.K. Subban got the 88 overall rating and it's too low for this top defenseman, who had his career year in goals and nearly set his new career-high in points. 41. John Carlson - 88 42. Nicklas Backstrom - 88 43. Ryan Getzlaf - 88 44. Ryan Suter - 88 46. Andrei Vasilevskiy - 88 47. Pekka Rinne - 88 48. Matt Murray - 88 49. Frederik Andresen - 88 50. Jonathan Toews - 87 And here we have... The Vezina Trophy winner Pekka Rinne and a Vezina finalist Andrei Vasilevskiy rated both 88 overall at the 46th and 47th places. They have worse rating than Dubnyk and Quick (89 both) and placed 12 lines lower. A strange situation. What do you think about the NHL19 ratings?
