Jakarta, CNN Indonesia - The 2018 Asian Games torch relay arrived at Mount Bromo on Saturday (21/7), having previously visited Blitar, the city where the tomb of Bung Karno is located and the city of Malang.

Previously, the Torch was taken around the second largest city in East Java with celebrity Samuel Riza and former table tennis athlete, Ling ling and former badminton athlete Luluk Hadiyanto.

The 2018 Asian Games torch relay will pass 18 Provinces, 54 cities and 64 dots, this time brought to Mount Bromo after following the Festival of Malang City held by Malang City Government.

"Mount Bromo is one of the most beautiful tourist destinations, we deliberately make Bromo as the point traversed by the 2018 Asian Games torch relay so that the natural beauty of Bromo increasingly exposed to the international world and increased tourists," said Erick Thohir, Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the Asian Games 2018 in a release received by CNNIndonesia.com.

While in Bromo, the torch was brought by famous Indonesian celebrity, Irfan Hakim accompanied by dozens of horsemen from the TNI cavalry and Bromo community.

To showcase the richness of Indonesian culture, the entire torch relay troupe used traditional clothes to the crater of Mount Bromo and carried a red and white flag.

The torch was brought to the top of the crater of Mount Bromo by the main torchbearer who is also Indonesian badminton legend Susy Susanti. The torch containing the combined fire from India and Mrapen will ignite the mini cauldron available at the pinnacle of Mount Bromo.

"As a torch bearer of this Asian Games 2018 torch, my hope to the Indonesian athletes to go forward abstinence and give the best for Indonesia and coincidentally also my first time visiting Bromo, Bromo is very beautiful, exotic, and extraordinary, "said Susy Susanti.
