If there is one recipe I love to make that is perfect for watching sports whether it is by yourself or with a group of friends and family members, it is Tot Chos. You may or may not have heard of these, I sure hadn't until I was introduced to them here in Arizona. There is a restaurant chain called, "Cold Beer and Cheeseburgers" here in the Phoenix valley. It is pretty much like a sports bar, where you can go and watch the games that are playing and eat great food, and of course drink beer if you want. I am not a drinker, but I also get their Tot Chos! How can you go wrong with tater tots, gravy, cheese, bacon, and green onion? Well the simple answer is, you can't! They are super easy to make, if I can make them, you can make them, let's get started!

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 bag of tater tots
  • 3 strips of bacon
  • 2 Tbsp. of bacon grease (save from bacon)
  • 1 cup of milk
  • 2 Tbsp. of flour
  • pinch of salt
  • pinch of pepper
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • green onion for garnish

First bake your tater tots according to the back of the package.

2. Next, cook your bacon and save 2 Tbsp. of the grease for the gravy.

mmm bacon......mmm

3. Add flour to grease and whisk

This will make our base for the gravy.

4. Slowly add milk while whisking

Don't worry if clumps form.

5. Turn heat down to low and let the gravy thicken

Add salt and pepper to taste.

6. Pour the gravy over the tater tots

7. Add cheese, bacon, and green onion.

8. Enjoy! I like to eat mine with a little bit of ketchup. Mmm yummy!
