Nigeria's multiple award-winning musician, David Adeleke, globally known as 'Davido' has announced that he's donating NGN250,000,000.00 (about 608,500 USD) to orphanages and foundations in all parts of the country.
On Wednesday, 17th November Davido posted on his social media platform challenging friends, fellow entertainers and fans to gift him NGN100,000,000.00 as he celebrates his birthday. In less than 24 hours, he had seen over NGN100,000,000.00 go into his bank account.
On Saturday, 20th November Davido posted a video on his Instagram page announcing that he will donate all money received to orphanages and foundations in all parts of the country. Davido confirmed that he had received over NGN200,000,000.00 and then pledged to make an additional NGN50,000,000.00 donation in addition to the NGN200 million he had raised.
To achieve this, he has also set up a disbursement committee tasked with ensuring that the money goes to the right places.
