I love boards sports, I enjoy watching all of them but I practice skateboarding, longboarding and snowboarding the most. I have a surfboard but to be honest I am not much of a water kinda guy.

When I was a kid, I mean like 10 years old, I was listening to whatever the radio stations were playing, mostly crappy pop music, comercial rubbish in short. The way I see it, people usually tend to forge their personalities in their teens, thats when all the changes happen. Not only hormonal changes, but many things happen at this age. The toys you used to love look childish now, your favorite clothes embarrase you now and so on.

I remember the first time I got a proper skateboard like it was yesterday. I should have been 12 years old and my parents bought me one from a toys store. Yeah one of those crappy ones and not one from a skateshop. But I loved it, and I was cool with that to start. Actually, if I go sdsfurther back in time, I remember that I used to have one of those really oldschool skateboards when I was even younger. One of those with only tail and no nose, and it had a plastic brake on the tail, really oldschool, but that was more like a toy than a proper board to be honest.

Then, one day somewhere in my teens, I discovered THPS. The PS1 skateboarding videogame: Tony Hawk`s Pro Skater. I was blown away by it. Beyond blown away. The graphics were sick at the time, gameplay was amazing and last but not least: the music was rad. Bands like Goldfinger, The Vandals and so many more. I was loving those tunes!

In no time (cos I discovered THPS1 pretty late) THPS2 came out and that was the game that I enjoyed the most in my entire life. No other game has ever entertained me nearly as much. And in this particular game, I discovered so many bands that I wasn`t aware of, bands that I still listen to nowadays. Thanks THPS2 !!!

Rage Against the Machine, Bad Religion, Papa Roach, Millencolin, Lagwagon are some of the bands in that soundtrack that I didn`t know at the time, and that I still love listening to. I will forever be thankful to this game, not only for the endless hours of entertainment, but also for forging my taste in music.

Needless to say, I started enjoying punk-rock music a lot after playing this game. I was just a kid but this opened my eyes and made me start digging into more punk/punk-rock bands. I went from listening to Shakira to rocking the house with Lagwagon and Millencolin 😂😂.

So... that`s the story behind my music inclinations. Have you ever been influenced by a video game like I was?
