Archery is one of the most ancient sport known, the forst images of archeries has found in some caves in Africa and are dated about thirty thousand years ago: the paintings represent surely men that was hunting and they used long bows. In Olympic games archery appears for the first time in the Olympic Games of 1900 in Paris, then this sport were excluded from 1920 and comes back at Olympic Games of 1972 in Munich.

Bows types:

  1. LONGBOW: it is the simplest arch, build of a wood rod and the rope is tightened and tensioned; the calibration changes from arch to arch and is modified by the archer's reach.
  2. BAREBOW: this bow is usually used to teach the discipline of archery to neophytes: their part are: a riser, 2 bending, a rest, and some added weights.
  3. OLYMPIC BOW: this bow is the only one used in the Olympic Games and it's very similar to barebow but,in addition, there is of a viewfinder, a clicker and two stabilizers; the precision is very high precision but slightly lower than the compound bow.
  4. COMPOUND BOW: this bow is much shorter than previous ones, it has greater precision and more power than the Olympic bow. Someone uses this bow also for hunting. It usually has a lens in order to garantee a magnification view.
