The Belgian driver Jérôme d'Ambrosio #64 of the Mahindra Racing team, achieved the victory in the second ePrix of the season of the Formula-E, played in Morocco.

D'Ambrosio won an unexpected eprix of Marrakesh after missing a few minutes to finish the race, where the BMW and Andretti Motorsport drivers made a mistake between them, when they fought for the lead and the victory. Alexander Sims #27 was ahead of his teammate, the Portuguese António Félix da Costa #28, who had led Much of the race. This crash between the BMW riders forced the safety car out, which remained on track until only one lap was needed. The incident between the two BMWs occurred in turn 7, which ended the longest straight line of the circuit. Sims, taking advantage of the fact that he had retained more energy than any of the other rivals, tried to overcome his partner.

The Belgian managed to control Robin Frijns and Sam Bird when the race resumed with just one lap remaining, to win the first victory of the 2018-2019 season of the Formula-E and also managed to lead the drivers' championship with 40 points, taking advantage 12 points from both António Félix da Costa and Jean-Éric Vergne, who occupy the second and third place respectively.

On the other hand, the debutants of this season come from the highest category of motorsport such as the f1, the drivers Felipe Massa #19, who had a very bad race at the end of the race in the position number 18 and Stoffel Vandoorne #5 who was forced to abandon the race. There was also an incident in the middle zone of the grid, with Lucas di Grassi passing braking and colliding with the back of Pascal Wehrlein's car. The damage caused in the Mahindra forced the German to retire from his debut race in Formula E.

Final podium of the race:

  1. J. D'Ambrosio #64 -Mahindra
  2. R. Frijns #4 -Audi
