>### John 6

>**26** Jesus answered, “Very truly I tell you, you are looking for me, not because you saw the signs I performed but because you ate the loaves and had your fill. **27** Do not work for food that spoils, but for food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you. For on him God the Father has placed his seal of approval.”

Are you content? Contentment is a state of satisfaction. It's a point where you are at ease in whichever situation you find yourselves? Contentment has been said to be the greatest wealth. You can literally never have enough. No matter how much you get, there would always be room for more. You will always have things you need and things you want. Whenever you get them, there would be additional things you would believe you still need.

In the above passage, we notice that Jesus was speaking with a group of people. In the beginning of the chapter, Jesus fed 5,000 men with 5 breads and 2 loaves of bread. He left them and went to Capernaum. The people followed and met up with him. They were only interested in themselves. They were only interested in what will benefit their bodies and not what will help their spirits. They had been fed and there was even leftovers. They weren't satisfied with what they got, and wanted more, whiles ignoring food for their souls.

They were not content because they were canal. They weren't spiritual, so they didn't think of anything spiritual, and Jesus admonished them. They enjoyed the food and was attracted to the power that could give them this kind of food always. That seemed like a good plan. They will always have their bellies full and they never have to worry about food again. Jesus would feed them always, so they couldn't let him go.

When we are ignorant of what God wants from us and what can do, we are often not content with what God is doing. When you read on, this people who had been fed by Jesus asked for a miracle so they could believe in Him. Did they forget so soon that they had been fed by this man? Why would they need prove that He could do miracles before they believed. They mentioned that their ancestors were fed with manna in the wilderness, so you can take a guess. They were only interested in what they could stand to gain, and all they wanted was to be fed again.

True satisfaction in life comes from God. When you have a personal relationship with God, you are always content with what you have. Just having life is not an easy thing, even though we take it for granted. Being content doesn't mean you shouldn't work, but your Christian life should never suffer for your personal gains. When you have a relationship with God, you enjoy peace and you appreciate everything in your life.
