Bulukumba, South Sulawesi (28/07) - After his journey from the easternmost point of Indonesia, namely Pyainemo Island, the Asian Games 2018 Torch arrived in central Indonesia, namely Makassar, precisely on the border of Bantaeng, Bulukumba.

Kirab team arrived at Dato 'Tiro Mosque, Islamic Center, Bantaeng, Bulukumba at 15:00 local time. The 2018 Asian Games fire was awarded by Alfian as a Bulukumba athlete and handed over to the Bulukumba Regent, Andi M. Sukri Sappewali.

"A grace and honor for the people of Bulukumba can receive the torch of the Asian Games 2018. Hopefully, people can be friendly, so it can prove to the country that will visit today that we are ready to welcome the 2018 Asian Games," said Bulukumba Regent.

After the opening ceremony by the Bulukumba Regent, the 2018 Asian Games torch is categorized along Bulukumba up to Tanjung Bira. Team carnival consisting of 10 athletes Bulukumba, Mario Lawalata, East Minarti, and Rosiana Tendean escorted by runners from Police and TNI.

Kirab this time not only cross the land route but also the sea. The torch was taken with the Pinisi Ship, the legendary ship for the Bugis. Not only 3 Pinisi ships, torches are also escorted with 45 sampans.

After the transit at the Fish Auction Port at 17.30 WIB, the torch will continue to sail to Tanjung Bira beach. The torch was brought by Mario Lawalata.

In addition to Mario, the fire, also carried by Andi Palling, local athlete Bulukumba, expressed his pride in being able to carry the 2018 Asian Games torch. He hopes that this moment can be a motivation for all athletes in the tie.

Along the way, the torch was greeted enthusiastically by the people around Bulukumba who had been waiting since at 10.00 WITA along the way. The sunny weather tends to be hot and does not dampen their spirit to welcome this very rare occurrence.

Tonight, the waves of Tanjung Bira beach waves witnessed the welcoming of the 2018 Asian Games Torch in the Torch Relay Festival. This festival was attended by the Regent and Vice Regent of Bulukumba, representative of Pelakasana Committee of Asian Games 2018, Head of Telkomsel, also representatives of DPD, and SABARA Polres Bulukumba.
