Hello Everyone!
My name is Tom, most people call me inthenow since that is my Steemit Handle. I signed up here, when it was announced that Scorum.com and Lucksacks.com are joining forces on a weekly poker tournament - Scorum.com Weekly 50 SCR Freeroll, More on that in a bit.
Now for a little of my sports(ancient) history. I grew up watching Johnny U(RIP) play for the Baltimore Colts during the late 60's and early 70's. Shhh... like I said, ancient history. If you live in Baltimore, you support the home team! ;-) I went to quite a few games at Memorial Stadium when I was a kid, my Grandfather was a big fan of the Colts, and the Orioles. And I kind of followed along for the ride, we had good times at the Stadium.
I spent a lot more time there in the summers watching the O's play, and still catching a few games with Colts in the fall, even during the lean years. And we all know what happened in 1984, Irsay(RIP)... You still suck! You rolled out in the middle of the night, how low could you go? Being without a home team sucks. So I had to retire my Colts memorabilia, and go shopping for a new team. No success for quite a few years. Fast forward to 1996.
Yay! New home team with the Baltimore Ravens, we are back in business. The first few years were a little rough, but it takes time to fine tune the machine. And wouldn't ya know it, hit the big time in 2000 with a Super Bowl XXXV win over the Giants with Billick at the helm. The next few years were not the best, and ya gotta take the good with the not so good. Fast forward to 2012 with Harbaugh, Flacco & company taking the 49'ers to task in Super Bowl XLVII.
And last year ugghhhh, missed the playoffs...again. But it is what it is. I got some fingers crossed this year is going to be good year. I now live in PA, way up in Steeler and Eagles country, and catch some odd looks for sporting my Ravens gear around town. Ahh well, suck it up peeps!
I am by no means a big stats guy, and don't know all the players and etc... not my dept. I spend most of my time creating music, and playing poker online. But, I do like to watch the games and multitask with some Gentleman Jack while watching. Ya'all probably know way more than I do... just sayin!
Moving on to Baseball. I also grew up watching Brooks Robinson at the 3rd base bag. And let us not forget Cal Ripken Jr., 2131 anyone? Jim Palmer, Eddie Murray, Earl "The Pearl" Weaver and many more. A few World Series wins..and losses, but we like it when it's a win, hahaha!
Moving on to Poker. And yes, I really can #blamebeth! LOL That would be @bethalea on Steemit and now here on Scorum. She said you should join, it's quite fun. She forgot the part about getting hooked, but it's all good though, she is awesome(don't tell ATS or Chops). I've played various forms of poker over the years, and never really got into the whole NL Holdem games and etc. I used to prefer to play Black Jack, and straight up 5 card stud.
Well, I now spend most of my time between playing Poker online, making music, and raising a 10 y.o. And last night, I played in the 1st Scorum 50 SCR Weekly Tournament, and it was a fun one to play. So if you are not on Lucksacks.com yet, whatchya waitin on? Be prepared for the Invasion of incoming peeps from Lucksacks too, we are on the move!
