Following a sports event doesn’t start and end with watching the game itself. The better parts are always found in-between, in the rigorous search for vital details leading up to, during, or after the games are played. And those details are found nowhere but in sports news sites.

As a regular sports bettor, I usually spend my time over at blog.nitrogensports.eu for updates on all the sports I follow, but there are other sites in my reading list that fuel the daily sports grind. Here are just some of them - the best ones - that you should check out today.

Bleacher Report

I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again. BleacherReport.com still has exceptional sports content because of its extensive reach. It doesn’t just cover the numbers and standings, it also digs deeper into sports culture and the happenings on and off the field.

ESPN.com

ESPN.com is ESPN’s official website, which every sports fan should know. Fun fact - it was launched in the early 90s as ESPNet.SportsZone.com. Since then, its reach grew so exponentially to become the ESPN that we know now, which is the top name in sports when it comes to coverages, highlights, and even opinions.

SB Nation

SB Nation is the superior site when it comes to sports blogging. That’s what the name stands for, “sports blogging nation”, in the first place. Owned by Vox Media, SBNation.com is one of today’s biggest sports blogging networks that give great insights on everything about sports.

CBS Sports

Also up there among the big players in TV Sports, CBSSports.com has earned a large following in terms of sports news, live scores and coverages. The site is also good at giving expert predictions and fearless forecasts from good sports commentators.

Nitrogen Sports Blog

As I’ve mentioned, Nitrogen Sports News is my go-to source for sports updates. Aside from delivering the latest information in everything sports-related, looking through the latest happenings and opinions from a sportsbook’s angle gives a better perspective in terms of sports betting.

Yahoo! Sports

If you’re actively following the North American collegiate and professional sports leagues, then Sports.yahoo.com is a great source of information. Aside from delivering a good set of daily sports updates, Yahoo! Sports has interesting content on fantasy sports leagues, which also comes very handy in sports betting.

Rivals.com

For college football and basketball fans, Rivals.com tackles everything you should know about collegiate tournaments, among others. Also based in the US, Rivals consists of a multitude of websites that are rich with content on college football and basketball.

Sporting News

Sportingnews.com is also a reliable source of sports information that covers pretty much everything. The label is so established, it even dates back to the 1800s as a print magazine. Since then, it has lived on to this day to deliver news and updates on major sports events like NBA, NFL, MLB, and others.

Official League Sites

And of course, there’s no better place to get first-hand information about the matches and tourneys than the official sports sites themselves. NBA.com, NFL.com, MLB.com and other official sites have the up-to-date news, data, stats and other essential info about the games. And you can be certain that they are reliable.
