Some whiles ago, I went to the highland territory to watch this race that has become annual events for the local people in Gayo, Aceh, Indonesia territory. As my first experience of watching this race, I was truly shocked when I found out the race was participated by the underage with the naked head. It was not polo or normal horse race where they are equipped with complete stuff. In this race, we can not find any of those things.
However, the rule is the same, where the competitor who first touched the finish line is the winner. What makes me call this amazing race, it is all about the children who put themselves in danger, while their face showed no fear. All they need to do is to make sure that the horse was fine with their instruction. I do believe, it can be not included as international race, due to the game has been only conducted in this area and it has been done by generation to generation in the way to preserve the legacy of their ancestors. So, why the underage? I have no such a good reason to say, but I can guess, the race was a good way to train their physical and mental of the children when they grow up, there will be nothing to be feared about. The race educated them to be strong people, and become a good animal lover, especially the horse that has become part of their family.
