Ratankandi Hat is the largest of the many weekly hats in our area, which is known as Wednesday Hat because it is on Wednesday.

Whenever I go home, if I am at home on Wednesday, I have to go to this Ratankandi market. Our village has small markets in the morning and in the afternoon. From that market I do the raw markets of daily life. But Wednesday's market is a big market, where everything from daily life is available.

All the people in our area come to the market this Wednesday and take their daily life to the market. Many market from here for a whole week. This hat is called Ratankandi Hat as it is located in Ratankandi village of Shubhgachha union of Kazipur upazila of Sirajganj district.

A large part of our Kazipur upazila is situated on the other side of the river Jamuna. We call that area Char area. People from Char area also come to this Ratankandi market every week.

The day before I suddenly went home and yesterday was Wednesday, so yesterday I went to Wednesday market or Ratankandi market to go shopping. Bring home about a week's worth of groceries. I market some more including potatoes, eggplant, raw chillies, onions.

This haat is called the historical haat, there is a huge fish market here, where you can find all kinds of fish, the fish of the river Jamuna is most available in this haat. Many people come to this market just to buy Jamuna river fish, Jamuna river fish is the most delicious.

There are various sweet shops in this market. One of the features of this market is that all the shops are separate, all the fish shops are together, all the sweet shops are together, all the shops of the raw market are together, all the spice shops are together.

On the south side of the market there is a huge place for buying and selling cows, goats and buffaloes. Many cows, goats, buffaloes are bought and sold at every market. Especially during the Eid of Korbani, this market is filled with cows, goats and buffaloes. We all buy sacrificial animals from this market.

There were a few less people in the market yesterday.

Thanks everyone for reading my post today.
