Every human being has some responsibilities in the world, one human being to seek the welfare of another human being, to visit when he is ill, to complete his last deeds when someone dies, to accept the invitation of another. These are the responsibilities and duties of every human being. One of the responsibilities is to greet people.

There are many benefits to greeting people, the person who greets others does not have arrogance inside. Salam means wishing good or peace for another person. By saluting the servant is freed from sin. The Prophet (peace be upon him) and his Companions used to greet each other first. Hadrat Abdullah bin Umar (R) used to go to the market only to salute. Below is the incident of Abdullah bin Umar (R) going to the market.

Hazrat Tufail was a student of Hazrat Abdullah bin Umar (RA), Hazrat Abdullah bin Umar (RA) loved him very much and Hazrat Tufail also loved his teacher very much and served him very well. Because of this love, Hazrat Tufail always went to his teacher's house and sometimes went to the market with him. Hazrat Tufail said that when Hazrat Abdullah bin Umar (RA) reached the market, he used to greet all the people in the market, whether he was selling garbage, shopping, poor, miserable or small children, he used to greet everyone first.

One day I went to her, she took me to the market with her. I said: You go to the market and do not stop at any shopkeeper, do not price anything, do not buy anything, do not sit in any market meeting, then why do you go to market? Hazrat Abdullah bin Umar (RA) said to Hazrat Tufail, O brother! We only go to the market to greet the Muslims we meet. Therefore, greet the Muslims you meet.

Hazrat Abdullah bin Umar (RA) used to go to the market only for the purpose of salutation. So everyone should be greeted. Everywhere you look today, the tide of protectionist sentiment is flowing.
