China is still too strong for sports in the world especially Asia. Proven from the past until now, the Bamboo Curtain country has always dominated the leadership of the Asian Games final standings.
Of the 18 times the Asian Games have been held, China has won the overall championship 9 times since 1982 to 2014. Other countries that have been overall champions are Japan 8 times, the rest have never been.
Even the 2018 Asian Games in Jakarta-Palembang, only held for two days, have collected 15 gold medals, 11 bronze and 9 silver medals, compared to Japan's second place with 8-11-11.
I got the medal acquisition through the official Asian Games website right at 09.00 PM or the time of western Indonesia. Under Japan there is South Korea (5-9-9) and 4th place is occupied by Indonesian host (4-2-2).
