The 2018 Asian Games medal on the 5th day is still led by three countries from East Asia (China, Japan, and South Korea). While there was a change in position 4 which was previously occupied by the Indonesian host, Iran has now been replaced. The host position drops to 5th place.

While the comparison of Chinese medals compared to Japanese competitors is very different. China won 38 gold, 30 silver and 15 bronze (total 83). While Japan gets 20 gold, 23 silver and 25 bronze (total 68).

The difference in the number of medals for both of them is 15 medals. Special gold medal, both of them are 18 medals. This difference, it is impossible for the Chinese position to be replaced by other countries in the medal acquisition.
