The Florida divers decided to beat the Australians' Guinness Record and set up the longest underwater chain of divers. It should be noted that the task wasn't the simplest one, because at the beginning of December 2017, the Australians obtained a result of 353 linked divers under water!

During an event organized in the town of Deerfield Beach, Florida, a local diving community assembled to set up a new Guinneass Record. All eager divers were invited. Regardless of the experience, age and qualifications, both locals and visitors - just everyone.

The organizers have prepared for a maximum of 400 participants. Everyone who was willing had to register in advance. The participation in the event was free, but there was an administration fee of $20, in which the participants received a long sleeve prepared for the occasion, a certificate confirming the participation in the Guinness Record beating, as well as a gift bag.

They managed to do it! On the day of the trial, June 16, 2018, there were 386 divers under water, who together formed the longest diving chain of humans and beat the previous record by 33 links! On the occasion, divers also cleaned the area, during which they managed to extract almost 730 kg of rubbish! Mainly torn fishing tackle.

The organizer of the campaign was known local Dixie Divers center.

I think it's great initiative that beside having fun and beating record those people also cleaned the area. We need more such events, not only underwater. What do you think of it?
