Scorum is a very exciting project that I have been following for many months now.

I first learned about Scorum when the dev team '@scorum.community' joined us on the Bitshares Hangout #56 back in October of 2017, a live show I help stream and record every week. At the time there was a big discussion about atomic swaps between chains including mainstream crypto like Litecoin.

The scope of the project, breaking off a sports community from the STEEM chain, was interesting to me as the chaotic mix here on Steemit has often lead to unjustified censorship by one community against another. We had been seeing this already happening against the pro-cannabis and nsfw communities as they began to splinter off to create their own genre-specific blockchains. So to me the idea of having an all sports community was a given.

Thankfully I was able to scoop up some OPEN.SCR when OpenLedger made them available on the DEX that would give me a decent starting stake when the platform launched.

Introduction

I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself to those who may not know me. I am very active in DPoS MASDAC / Community-driven blockchain platforms ever since joining Steemit just over a year ago. I now actively promote blockchain technology applications and am the BeyondBitcoin Community Coordinator working on initiatives and/or live shows for EOSTalk, Whaleshares, Bitshares, Smoke Network, and VICE.

I have been wrapped up in the EOS mainnet launch the last 2 weeks and am happy to have some time to properly introduce myself here as well.

Interests

As far as sports go , I golf and bowl, and my son and I are both fans of baseball, so those would be the focus of my sports related posts here on SCORUM. I would also like to help sponsor contests/initiatives here on the platform in time as my stake and voting power grow and I can leverage that to help others in the community.

So far, so good...

I must say for a first-draft beta it looks fantastic and functions really nice. Sure, there are some features and functions that are not in place yet, but - it's a beta. When you get right down to it, you really wouldn't know it was built from the Steemit source code.

I love the token/wallet stats up at the top, and well as the overall UI adaptations across the board. This is a huge step in the right direction. The post creation process is unique and will take some time to get used to, but I like it.

Hopefully the community will set and maintain a code of morals/ethics as guidelines for what will be tolerated (or not) in terms of post content from the beginning and really let this platform shine above the rest.

I'm looking forward a great first year here on Scorum!

Thank you for reading.
