Figure Skating is really new to me and never heard of it ever since but there was a time that Michael Christian Martinez was televised in TV Patrol, our local Philippine channel announced that he won a competition of Figure Skating at Bangkok's Asian Games during 2015.

That time when Filipinos heard about the good news in Figure Skating, some of them practice in Ice Skating Rink inside the mall since the Philippines has no winter season and that it is the only way to master such sports. This kind of sport in the Philippines which I consider costly since you cannot play it for free compared to other countries who do have such seasons. We need to pay the rental according to how many hours we will stay at the skating rink and at the same time we will be renting skating shoes also which is really expensive.

But there are some people who are passionate to learn skating and if they are lucky enough to master then they have the opportunity to level up and learn hard skating sports like Figure Skating and some other sports related to skating. When I was on my high school days, I always rent in ice skating which I am really eager to learn how to control it and that I could enjoy the same as others. It takes me a few days to fully control and around months to fully mastered the pace.

But today, I was not able to practice anymore and that the pricing of the rental went high as well as accessories that are being used. I guess that is the one reason, I stopped my attempt to fully learn about skating since only those who are capable of spending such amount of money will be the one mastering such kind of sports.

Michael's Career

Michael Christian Martinez has the passion for skating and been into many Olympic and Asian Games. He has won several awards and also a renowned champion on figure skating. His mark of excellence on such kind of winter sports is really a big impact to the country since we don't have the capacity to master such kind of sport but still, Michael's determination to win and excel is really shown.

His performance is remarkable and excellent into my eyes since he is the only one representing the Philippines on such sport and that he should really be given a big round of applause.

Last 2018 Winter Olympics he was not able to advance on the freestyle but as for me he really did his well and that there is nothing to be discouraged with it. Such kind of sports is really difficult especially if you are competing with the very best in the world.

He is now currently preparing for the 2019 Southeast Asian Games, and I am sure that he will be fully ready for that. I'm on total support on this athlete since he always represents the Philippines and gives pride to the country.
