After a tight implementation of security all over from police, security personnel and other concern citizens the event was a success and peace and order throughout the event was established. It was really a busy day where people spectate on the road to view those renowned international champions in Ironman competition as well as those local stars that participated in the event.

People cheering every athlete pass them over which really boosts the confidence of those athletes that they should strive hard and do their best in the competition. Each of those participating athletes has the will to finish the race, what odds it may take. With those kinds of confidence, I am sure that any obstacles and struggles they will just easily surpassed them.

Passion is the key to the game, since you need to be physically fit and prepared to join such an event and that their dedication to such an extreme event is highly recognized by many people. It is not really easy to compete for such kind of competition, only people that are capable and willing to undergo such dedication on training.

With such an event, I do now know how much important to host such a prestigious competition. This is one way of promoting our tourist attraction from other countries and letting them know about our culture.

Terrific Finishers

The weather is so great that day that really helps the athletes not so much exhausted from a 113-kilometer race which started from swimming race, then bike race and running race after. There had been a great competition between professional athletes to whom who will take on this year's Ironman event in the Philippines.

Tim Reed who tries to defend his title and tries to grab his third regional championship in Cebu Ironman failed when he was beaten with Mauricio Mendez of Mexico which also won Ironman Davao.

It has been a tough finish for Mauricio Mendez and exceptionally emotions he displayed the time he grabs the winning ribbon. His face is full of joy that all those hard work that he put in, really paid him so much that he did finish first place in Asia-Pacific Championship.

He was around the 7th place during the bike race where he put a tight competitive run race after the transition. It was really a close match on bike race but he did well during the run race that gives him the chance to overtake professional athletes ahead of him.

Mendez finishes the race with a 3:46:44, which breaks the record of Tim Reed's finish last year. Next to him is Tyler Butterfield of Bermuda with record finish of 3:47:39 and Braden Currie of Australia with record finish 3:48:12.

As we can see, it was really a tight finish that I could applause my hands as fast as I could. They really have done it well and surely we will be seeing them again on next year's competition.
