The man in picture above is Frank Kulick, he was one of the first employees of Ford Motor Company. Frank Kulick was unbeatable as Ford racer. He was Ford's number one racing driver for a decade.

Henry Ford thought that it was a good thing that Kulick raced with Ford Model T, not with car that built for racing. Because it demonstrated the performance of cars that American public could purchase (Model T).

By looking at the picture we can see how much we have been improving in just a century. Cars we have now are completely different with car in the picture. It also shows that technological progress affects how we do sports nowadays.
