The Story Of SneakyCloud9 has moved mid laner Nicolaj "Jensen" Jensen, Zachary "Sneaky" Scuderi and Andy "Smoothie" Ta to their academy roster for the first week of the 2018 NA LCS Summer Split.
n their place, C9 will be starting Greyson "Goldenglue" Gilmer, Yuri "Keith" Jew and Tristan "Zeyzal" Stidam, all of whom played on C9's academy team last split.
"Throughout the course of our preseason efforts it really showed that these academy players were putting in a ton of effort and playing very well as a team, together," Cloud9 CEO Jack Etienne said in a video statement.
"And we wanted to put together the best possible team for our Week 1 stage, and these players are our best players to put on stage. They are performing better than our old roster was. And they've put in the hard work and effort to get to where they are and they've earned their spot to play this weekend."
C9 Academy placed 3rd-4th in the 2018 Spring Playoffs, losing 3-0 to FlyQuest Academy. Meanwhile, the main Cloud9 roster placed 5th-6th in the Spring playoffs, after a 3-0 loss to Team Liquid.
"The main goal here is to make sure that we have players who are extremely passionate about playing and winning," Etienne said. "This change has had a dramatic improvement in the players' desire to get better and push themselves to a higher level. You're going to see a team that has a new sense of fire and passion to do well on stage."
Cloud9 has not stated if this roster change will stick for the rest of the season. C9 plays Team SoloMid and OpTic Gaming in their first week matches, while the academy roster plays FlyQuest Academy and Counter Logic Gaming Academy.

The Story Of Sneaky: the early years of the North American League Championship Series players and organizations banded together to legitimize competitive gaming as a mainstream spectacle.

Now, the NA LCS is big business. It costs millions to field a team on that stage, and more than ever the pressure is on players to perform.

Rosters are constantly in flux as teams import international talent in the pursuit of winning an NA LCS Championship.

Organizations need franchise players that they can build an identity and culture around. A player to lead their team for years to come. A player who won’t waver when a new patch drops or new players are inserted into the starting lineup. A player that they can count on to hold a team together.

A player like Sneaky.

This is his story.
