Hello. My name’s Vlad Artemyev, I’m CEO of Scorum.

We’re very grateful to all those people, who supported our project by participating in the crowdsale, joining our Bounty program and writers community, actively engaging with Scorum services or simply speaking well of the company.

Today I want to take stock of the progress made and speak in details about the Scorum business development strategy. Our main principles are being most honest with our community and benefit it. You believed in us — and now we’re doing everything to meet your expectations.

Some difficulties that we’ve faced

During the course of working on the project we’ve come across several challenges that, to a greater or lesser extent, have influenced the business development process.

  • Fall in the cryptocurrencies prices right after the ICO

While at the time of the crowdsale Bitcoin and Ethereum prices were around 14000$ and 1400$ respectively, during the following months they dropped 1.5-2.5 times. Consequently, the amount of money raised, in dollar equivalent, has decreased drastically.

  • Lots of scam projects on the market

Statistically 98% of the projects that hold an ICO end up either being a scam, or never actually reaching the stage of a product launch.

  • Also, cryptocurrency industry has suffered from FUD (Fear, uncertainty and doubt) — psychological manipulations used by detractors and haters to scare the people off the blockchain and cryptocurrencies.

In general society's stand on the world of cryptocurrencies has also shifted: although in December-January it was super positive, it’s changed for the worse since then.

  • Regulator’s unpredictability

Cryptocurrency market regulations vary greatly in different countries. Besides, the last year brought some notable changes to the countries with the most advanced economies.

In autumn 2017, the overall mood towards the future actions of the regulators was optimistic, however, in the end, the situation turned out to be contrary to the expectations of cryptocurrency enthusiasts.

  • Hacker attacks on exchanges and crypto projects

A number of crypto projects were attacked. Not only the separate entities suffered, but also the exchange users, who lost their money because of the exchange platforms. This also had a negative impact on the general opinion of cryptocurrencies.

  • Rather slow development of the blockchain solutions and infrastructure worldwide

Unfortunately, engagement of new audiencies goes quite slowly — we are still far from the time when every single person in the world has cryptocurrency. The general introduction of blockchain into various spheres of life would positively affect each project individually.

To state the main point: the situation in the world has changed significantly since the time of the crowdsale. One can’t go forward blindly, without taking into account numerous changes and external factors. In this regard, we focus on the long-term development strategy of the project.

The exchanges

Most questions we receive are connected with the exchanges. I want to clarify where we stand on that matter.

Why we first chose the DEX:

  • Highest level of security and funds security compared to the other exchanges.
  • Absolute conformity with the spirit of decentralization and blockchain.

Before the start of the crowdsale we announced our arrangements with OpenLedger, which implied that OL would be the first exchange where the SCR token was going to be listed. Our appearance on OpenLedger didn’t catch any of our users by surprise.

New exchanges

Despite the growing amount of cryptocurrency exchanges, few of them correspond to the serious requirements that we’ve set.

Our criterion:

  • Legal compliance and transparent legal structure;
  • High liquidity;
  • Strong team;
  • Potential;
  • Clean background.

We don’t want to risk our reputation and the money of the SCR token holders. This requires us to be cautious and strict when it comes to listing — some exchanges that, according to different parameters, were in top not so long ago, turned out to be unreliable.

Listing on those few exchanges that do comply with our requirements will cost a lot. We plan to go there organically after the product launch — this will cost less and have a greater effect.

Right now we are working on a convenient internal exchange built in Scorum Wallet that will be connected with fiat gateways. Apart from the advantages for the present SCR holders, it will also lower the entrance threshold to the industry for new users, who have never used cryptocurrency before.

Whose interest do we advance

We’ve never said that we will protect the interests of those who have “lambo-lambo motives” and want to speculate on the price. At the same time we look at the situation realistically and understand that a part of the crowdsale participants joined in to make quick “X”s. Speculators will soon have an opportunity to sell the tokens to advertisers — after the ad platform launches.

Meanwhile we focus our efforts on the following:

  • Interests of the long-term crowdsale participants.
  • Long-term interests of the project.
  • Development of the blockchain industry on the whole.
  • Sports fans, who are not connected with cryptocurrencies.

Marketing plans and achievements

  1. We have already released Scorum blogging platform in 5 languages and plan to launch it in 25 languages in 48 countries.

  2. More than 320 sports writers, inspired by our ideas, have already joined our community. They are ready to create unique content about all types of sports in different languages on the blogging platform.

  3. 167 translators and proofreaders from our target-countries have joined Scorum bounty program.

  4. There are 9 promoters who have decided to join the promoters branch and promote the project online.

  5. 98 people, who want to become a Scorum partner and promote the project at events in their countries, have successfully passed the quiz. 15 of them have already become Scorum candidates, 11 are waiting for the online-interview.

  6. Scorum has been recently selected as one of the Top-50 sports startups by HYPE Sports Innovation — one of the biggest sports ecosystems. With more than 26k members of management of leading sports clubs (FC Arsenal, FC MU, Nuts, etc.), of brands (Adidas, Puma, Asics and others), athletes (football stars as well as NBA, NFL and others), representatives of international federations (FIFA, UEFA, etc.) and sports investment funds. This gives us access to the whole ecosystem and sports events all over the globe (5 times a year, from the US to Europe).

Scorum possesses a huge advertising potential for projects entering the stage of ICO.

In particular, for EOS projects:

  • EOS projects are developed on identical to Scorum technology — their mechanics will be easy to understand for our users.
  • Today Scorum is the only Graphene-based blockchain project, where EOS projects can place their ads.
  • EOS allocates $1 billion for the development of EOS based projects — all of those will need a place for advertisement.
  • All the large platforms (Google, Facebook and others) have limited the advertisement of cryptocurrency and blockchain projects.

Why we are currently a unique project with great perspectives

Thanks to Graphene technology we have a number of advantages over the projects created or being created on different technologies:

Free transactions

Graphene framework — is the best solution currently available in order to implement no-commission betting exchange and fantasy platform, and also blogging platform with internal system of revenue sharing.

The number of transactions per second

For normal functioning and scalability of our products, Graphene is the only option, because of its capacity of more than 3000 transactions per second.

Scorum’s uniqueness and advantages lie in its vast ecosystem that we are building for the sports fans. It comprises a blogging platform, fantasy sports platform, betting exchange, statistics center, and custom sports data analytics tools. Besides, we are preparing to release a number of services that are not mentioned on the Roadmap.

From the point of long-term development everything looks quite positive, doesn’t it?
