Samsung smartphones with AMD Radeon graphics could be coming soon
Image Credit Welcome back everyone another new blog. So a couple of months ago Samsung surprised everyone when they announced their partnership with AMD to use their Radeon graphics technology in their smartphones. As everyone knows AMD is a graphics chip powerhouse, they're a big name in the gaming industry who powers the likes of the Xbox 1 and the Playstation 4. So Samsung bringing AMD's graphics to their smartphone, laptop, and tablet would put Samsung on the map with other big players like Qualcomm. Right now, Samsung uses the stock Mali graphics on their devices that leave a lot to be desired in terms of performance and it's not really on par when you compare it to the Adreno GPU by Qualcomm or even Apple's A-series of processors. So this partnership would elevate Samsung's processors and gaming performance to a whole new level. Now the biggest question that everyone was asking, when are we going to see AMD's Radeon graphics on Samsung's smartphones? Well, we've got the answer and it's coming from none other than Samsung themselves. Samsung in its recent earnings call said that its first chipset with AMD's graphics will be released in 2021. So that means the Galaxy S12 or Note 12 will come equipped with this new graphics. So if you were planning to get the Galaxy Note 10 then just go for it because we're still almost a couple of years away from witnessing this industry-changing partnership. By the way, Samsung is paying $100 million to AMD every year to license their tech which isn't a huge sum of money per se for a multi-billion-dollar company but it is what they're paying and even though we might not see this happen for at least two more years, the excitement is already so high.
