We all have Addictions.
Pretty new to this, so bear with me. I have a strong passion for writing, so this could be quite lengthy. To start things off I will reveal my own addictions, and state that this is not an article to judge anyone for having addictions. So, let's begin shall we? One big addiction I can definitely own up to, is social interaction. Now I know what you''re thinking, social interaction? How can talking to people be considered an addiction? Allow me to explain. I have always considered myself artistic in nature, I love expressing myself to others, in fact this began when I was just a young boy. I used to glance at myself in the mirror, expressing different emotions at once, quite funny to imagine, but from my point of view I was doing what I love, acting. As I progressed through my adolescent years I stumbled upon many hidden passions, these passions lead me to more curiosity, I was fascinated by others and their approach to present themselves to the world, for this reason, I have felt compelled to become involved, whether through commenting or by simply expressing that I liked what I had viewed and experienced. Talking and connecting with others has been quite addicting, because it has helped me cope with tough environmental influence, no not nature, I mean the thoughts that surround me on a day to day basis. This in turn has caused me to branch out on my own, in order to find out what distinctive talents I have, and with new talent comes more attention, now I can't say that I am addicted to being noticed, it is more so I am addicted to connection, as in strongly agreeing on something and continually being able to progress with these people in a happy and positive manner. This social interaction caused me to gain a love for various activities and sports. So to continue, my next addiction is baseball. From childhood to adulthood, (still growing), I have been obsessed with baseball, winning a few awards, and getting to have a great time socializing with fellow teammates and oppositions. It has taught me that while winning is great, it isn't everything. What you learn and how you grow with in each vicinity is what becomes truly satisfying, in my personal opinion that is. Now I could go on and on about my own addictions, but where's the fun in that? Instead I will state that we as a society all have addictions. The little things that we do on a daily basis, these are called addictions, why? Because we keep doing them. The moment you stop doing something, is the moment it is no longer an addiction. Some of us have food addictions, or academia addictions, or maybe even technological addictions, point being, we all have them in one way or another. We strive to be our best but truth be told we can never progress with something until we become obsessed with it, success is a state of mind and whether we'd like to admit it or not, we must indoctrinate ourselves in order to learn anything new, this in turn shapes our physical and emotional experience, and we begin to progress with what we call "our lives" interesting concept. For some this is a strong career path, and for others this doing what we love, without any harsh judgement on ourselves. We all strive for the best outcome, but will never get there without first having some kind of mental addiction towards it, otherwise why are we doing it? I hope you enjoyed this article, and if you have anything to comment I'd be more than happy to converse with you all, thank you to anyone who takes the time to view this article, and I apologize for my lack of creativity, again, I am pretty new to this. Take care, and be aware! peace friends.
